香港賽馬會公眾騎術學校 - Colour Coding System

馬會發言人表示,轄下三間公眾騎術學校規定騎術教練已具備英國馬術協會(BHS)認可資格,並持有效急救證書,還要每週接受騎術總教練的指導,以及定期接受訪港教練和考官的訓練。三校會按照學員的水平編级,以红、黃、橙、籃、綠、紫及粉紅等顏色分為七等級,一般而言,較高的學員如綠色級,可自行策騎馬匹,被編级凖則視乎學員的騎術表現,而非學騎年資。

現附上七個顏色等級的標準, 供各大馬場參考.

RIDING ACHIEVEMENT CERTIFICATES

 

These certificates are for riding school customers who wish to improve their skills with or without taking the British Horse Society Pony Club or Riding Club professional examinations.

 

It is a progressive system of achievement recongnisable in all Jockey Club riding schools.  A customer can move around the riding schools with “Proof Certificates” enabling instructors to accommodate the customer into suitable groups of the same level.  This will eliminate the necessity of private assessments apart from very new customers.  An Achievement Certificate will be issued by the instructor when a customer has achieved the skills required by the colour coding system.  The customer will be continually assessed during their lessons.  A review on class lessons will take place every three months to update the system.

 

There will be times when a customer maybe between two colour code stages because they are progressing more quickly on some aspects of equestrianism than others.  Every customer will receive an Achievement Certificate for their level.

LESSON COLOUR CODING SYSTEM

Before the rider can obtain the various colour levels, they must:

RED: Level 1 - Lead Rein

ü          Be able to pull down and run up stirrups

ü          Mount and dismount

ü          Know how to hold the reins correctly

ü          Know how to halt, walk and turn

ü          Have achieved sitting or rising trot holding onto the saddle or neck strap

 

RED: Stable Management

ü          Know how to lead pony with instructor’s help

ü          Know basic parts of the saddle and bridle

ü          Know basic parts of the horse

ü          Be aware of safety in the stable and around horses

 

 

YELLOW: Level 2

ü          Be riding on the lead rein

ü          Be able to check and adjust girth mounted or dismounted

ü          Be able to check and adjust stirrups mounted or dismounted

ü          Have a good basic flatwork position

ü          Know aids for halt, walk and trot

ü          Be able to ride circles and changes of rein

ü          Be able to manage rising trot unaided

ü          Be able to change the whip into the correct hand accordingly

 

YELLOW: Stable Management

ü          Be able to put on a headcollar and tie pony up

ü          Be proficient in leading pony to the paddock and to the stable

ü          Be able to ontack

ü          Know all parts of the saddle and bridle

ü          Know all points of the horse

ü          Have Knowledge of and be able to practice basic grooming

ORANGE: Level 3

ü          Be able to adjust onto the correct diagonal in rising trot

ü          Be able to achieve a forward seat position in trot

ü          Have knowledge of simple school exercises and commands

ü          Be able to walk and trot without stirrups

ü          Be able to ride over trotting poles

ü          Have started to practice canter in forward seat position

ü          Have knowledge of aids for transitions to and from canter

 

ORANGE: Stable Management

ü          Be able to tack up unaided

ü          Be able to wash horse or pony off after exercise

ü          Know how to clean tack

ü          Be able to put on and take off a rug

ü          Be aware of signs of ill health

 

 

GREEN: Level 4

ü          Have a more balance position in unaided sitting trot

ü          Be able to strike off to canter on the correct lead

ü          Be able to achieve a more balanced forward seat in trot and canter

ü          Be jumping fences at a height of approx. 50cm

 

GREEN: Stable Management

ü          Be able to walk horse outside of paddock

ü          Be able to fit and various kinds of boots

ü          Be able to take apart and put together parts of the saddle and bride

BLUE: Level 5

ü          Be in balance with the horse in all three paces

ü          Have some knowledge of riding a horse straight and with the correct bend on circles

ü          Be able to ride a preliminary dressage test

ü          Be able to canter without stirrups

ü          Be able to jump a small course of show jumps of approx. 75cm

ü          Know how to ride in a collecting ring at shows

 

BLUE: Stable Management

ü          Have knowledge of how to deal with a horse in hot weather

ü          Know how to turn both horse and rider out for shows

ü          Have knowledge of how to treat minor wounds

 

 

PURPLE: Level 6

ü          Be able to ride a novice dressage test

ü          Be able to ride with greater balance and depth of seat

ü          Recognise good and bad form in the horse’s way of going

ü          Be able to ride the horse forward and onto the bridle

ü          Be able to shorten and lengthen strides in all paces

ü          Be able to jump a course of fences at a height of between 85 and 95cm

ü          Have good rhythm & balance into fences

ü          Be able to ride a course of cross-country fences at a height of approx. 85cm including ditches, water and banks

ü          Have a good knowledge of striding between related fences

 

PURPLE: Stable Management

ü          Be able to fit more complicated places of riding equipment

ü          Have good knowledge of care before and after competitions

ü          Have basic knowledge of fittening

PINK: Level 7

ü          Be able to ride an elementary dressage test or above

ü          Understand problems encountered in training and how to work through them

ü          Have knowledge of working and training young or inexperienced horses

ü          Be able to jump a course of show jumps at a height of 105cm including a double and a trible

ü          Be able to adjust horses pace into various types of cross country fences of 95cm or above

ü          Be able to lunge a horse confidentially

 

PINK: Stable Management

ü          Be able to bandage a horse

ü          Have knowledge of and be able to put on travel equipment

ü          Know the systems of the horse

ü          Have good knowledge of the horse’s anatomy

ü          Be able to fit and ride with a double bridle
