The lane in which the competition is to be judged must be 90m long. The 90m stretch must be in a straight line.

This lane is divided up into 30m shooting sections.

The target tower is to be set up 9 meters from the middle of the lane and allows for the three targets to be attached at a height of 2 meters (distance from the ground to the bull’s-eye of target).

The targets have a total diameter of 90 cm. The middle ring has a diameter of 60cm, and the inner ring a diameter of 30cm.

The targets must be clearly distinguishable from the background.

The posts, which determine the limits of the individual sections, must be higher than 1.50m from ground level.

Only hits on the front target will be judged for the first section, only hits on the middle target are valid for the middle section, and only hits on the rear target will be counted for the last section.

The point values for hits on the targets are as follows, according to the rings hit, from the outmost to the inmost: front target = 4, 3, 2; middle target = 3, 2, 1; rear target = 5, 4, 3.

Number of arrows is not limited. The arrows may be held in the hand or taken from the quiver, belt, or boot.

A time limit of 16 seconds is set in advance.

The difference between the time limit and the actual riding time will be added to the shooting points.

Point score is given by the total number of points reached.

§2Rides in which no hits are made during the established time, or in which the lane is left, will receive no points.Two gallops in a row where the horse or rider leave the lane will disqualify a rider (See § 13 in the Rule & Scoring).§3The riding order is determined, however; can be altered by the doorman during the competition if this appears necessary. The judges must be made aware of this (See § 8 in the Rules & Scoring).

- The Korean Style

General Regulations, which apply to all Korean Disciplines:

§4

The competition lane must be made in such a way that a safe field of fire is presented, so that an errant arrow cannot hit anybody in the audience under any circumstances. It does not have to be a straight line.

§5

The arrows must be drawn from a quiver or belt. The quiver must be fixed at the waist or back of the rider.

§6

You may not have an arrow already in your hand before passing the starting line, neither the shooting hand nor the bow hand.

An exception to this is the Multiple Shot. Here, the first arrow may already be drawn and nocked before the starting line.

No more than one arrow is fired on each target per gallop. The Korean targets are 84 x 84 cm. Hits are given point values as follows: tiger’s head = 5 points, red = 4 points, yellow = 3 points, green = 2 points, black =1 point.

Providing that there is a hit on the target, going under the allowed time limit is rewarded with one extra point per second, and going over the allowed time is given one minus point per second.

In the event that the addition of the plus and minus points results in a minus figure for a gallop, that gallop will be valued at 0 points.

Double Shot Discipline§7The lane length must measure 90m, with a sufficiently large start and target zone. One Korean target will be set up both at 40m and 50m along the lane, each at between 5 and 12m from the lane. The targets should be set up at an angle of about 45° to the track.The time limit is 14 sec. hit and time points will be added together, and form the total result of the Double Shot discipline. 5 extra points will be given if both targets are hit and the time limit was not exceeded.Triple Shot Discipline§8The lane length must measure 90m, with a sufficiently large start and target zone.Three Korean targets will be set up parallel to the lane; one at a distance of 60m to the beginning of the track at an angle of 45° at a distance of 5 to 10 meters to the side of the track. Another is placed opposite this target on the other side of the track, at the same distance, and yet another at 30 meters parallel to the track at a distance of 5 to 10m from the lane.The time limit is 14 sec. hit and time points will be added together and form the total result of the Triple Shot discipline.Serial Shot Discipline§9The lane length must measure 150m, with a sufficiently large start and target zone. One Korean target will be set up at 15m, 45m, 75m, 105m, and 135m along the lane, each between 5 and 12m from the lane.The time limit is 25 sec.In the Multiple Shot, the first arrow may be drawn and laid on before the first lane limit post. Hit and time points will be added together, and form the total result of the Multiple Shot discipline. 5 additional points will be given when 3 targets are hit in a row. 10 additional points will be given when all 5 targets are hit. Extra points will be given only if the time limit is not exceeded.

- The Oriental StyleThe Turkish Style (Qabaq/Qiraj)§10

The lane length must measure 90m, the time limit is 14sec. Anyone who exceeds this limit will be given no points, while, if going under the limit, the difference between the time limit and the actual riding time will be added to the shooting points.

Two targets are beside the lane on either side, first the ground or Qiraj target and the high or Qabaq target.

The Qiraj target is a metal target of 50cm in diameter lying on the ground besides the track.

A regular hit is awarded 5 points; a Jarmaki Style hit is awarded 8 points.

The Qabaq is a 7m high pole in a straight line, shooting at a target of 50cm in diameter at its top.

The target is a round disc, fixed at the top of the pole, preferably hanging loosely from ropes or something similar for flexibility, and so that hits might be seen more easily by the judges.

Only FluFlu Arrows with blunt tips are permitted.

There is a circular area of 5m in diameter around the base of the pole from where arrows can be shot. The pole is positioned 1,5m inside the circumference.

Arrows shot from within the ring score 5 points when the target is hit; arrows shot from without the circle score 0 (Zero) points.

3 additional points will be given for any arrow that hits the target and is:

• Shot while hanging off the side of the horse in the traditional Qabaq Style
• Shot from the left side (for right handed archers from the right side) of the pole, shooting at the target over the horse’s neck
• Shot in the Jarmaki Style, shooting behind the back

Arrows may be taken from the hand, because of the blunt tips.

The Jordanian Style§11

The track is 60m long, the time limit is 10seconds, anyone who exceeds this limit will be given no points, while, if going under the limit, the difference between the time limit and the actual riding time will be added to the shooting points.

The competition consists of a front shot and stabbing of a small target with a sword or preferably a sabre.

The total length of the sabre/sword must not exceed 120cm.

The target should be picked up from the ground with the sabre or sword, carrying it along on the (tip of the) blade until the end of the track.

The stubbing target is placed on the ground at 45 meters from the beginning of the track; the target for the front shot is also placed at 45 meters.

The competitor must ride with bows and sword/sabre in hand.

The Arrow target has 3 scoring zones with 3, 5 and 7 points.

If the stubbing target on ground is picked up and carried along until the end of the track, 7 points are awarded. If it is picked up off the ground but lost again before the end of the track, 3 points are awarded. If the rider touches the target but fails to even pick it up/ lift it off the ground or looses it again immediately, no points are awarded. If both targets during one run are hit, 5 extra points are given.

- The Mogu Show§12

Course length must be at least 100m.

There is no time limit.

A mounted rider pulls a Mogu ball behind him on a long rope (at least 5m) over the course. Two mounted archers chase the ball while firing blunt arrows at it.

Arrows may be held in the bow hand (as blunt tips are hard to pull from any quiver or belt and may be coated with paint to mark the hits).

Chasing archers may only hit the ball when both drag rider and chasers are in a gallop and not at the beginning of the course when the drag rider is picking up the lag rope or at the end when it has been dropped.

There are two starting lines at 10m distance, the rider pulling the rope starting at the first line the two chasers at the one behind, starting at the same time.

NOTE 5 points are given per hit to the Mogu ball (if this was being scored). Mogu is a team sport, if held as a competition; prizes are awarded to the team 3 consecutive runs are held per team, the scores are added to form the total result of the Mogu competition. If possible the three rounds are run back and forth in alternating directions (2 one way, 1 the other). h4v6sY
